Mélanie Goguen, MSW, RSW
Melanie supports individuals who often feel caught in cycles of physical symptoms, mental strain, and emotional depletion. Many clients come to her after trying various approaches without lasting relief, seeking a different way of understanding what their body is communicating and how to support real change.
Â
Her work integrates evidence-based therapy with a strong emphasis on the nervous system, helping clients move from survival-based patterns toward greater regulation, ease, and self-trust. She also incorporates mindfulness, somatic awareness, Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and breath-based practices to support sustainable healing.
Clients often describe Melanie as warm, insightful, and grounded. She is passionate about helping people rebuild trust with their bodies and reconnect with a sense of internal safety, while also creating spaces for collective healing through group programs and community-based nervous system work.
Â
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll often find Melanie with a guitar in hand. Playing music and singing are where she feels most creative and at peace. She also values slowing down through breathwork and mindfulness, and loves travelling, experiencing new cultures, and seeing the world from different perspectives. At home, her greatest joy is spending time with her husband and their toddler daughter.
Â
Melanie is naturally curious and loves to learn, create, and find new ways to grow both
personally and professionally. Whether she’s developing resources, deepening her
understanding of nervous system healing, or building new offerings through Inner Connection, she is continually inspired by opportunities to learn and better support the people she serves.
About
Melanie is the co-founder of Inner Connection Therapy & Wellness and a registered social worker specializing in chronic pain, chronic illness, anxiety, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation. Her work is rooted in the understanding that symptoms are often meaningful signals from the body, not problems to suppress, but experiences to listen to and gently shift.
Â
Her approach is deeply informed by both professional training and lived experience with chronic pain and recovery. This perspective shapes a style of therapy that is compassionate, body-aware, and focused on helping clients reconnect with a sense of safety within themselves.
